About us
We are the Avon branch of the International Plastic Modellers Society. Based in Bristol, have monthly meetings and have approximately sixty five members who build a great variety of models including aircraft (both civil and military) ships, cars, armoured vehicles and figures.
The club is a wealth of information on all aspects of the hobby - members are always ready to answer questions and give help and advice.
We hold our own annual show (and have done for more than 30 years). Now held in conjunction with Lincombe Barn Wargames Society, we invite clubs and traders from both modelling and wargaming genres to take part in an event that is widely regarded as the best one-day modelling show on the calendar. We also exhibit at many model shows throughout the year.
We all try to bring not just finished models on club night but also models in progress - not everybody is an expert and seeing just how someone builds a model can be interesting and thought provoking.
We have guest speakers and model competitions as well as practical demonstrations - and plenty of time to chat about our hobby over a glass of our favourite drink, and set the world of modelling right...
